On the surface, So Good Looking Man is poetic story of a handsome young man’s last journey on a train. But the train is more likely a metaphor for a troubled young man's internal struggles deciding whether to get on the train and take a much darker journey.
Lyrics
There’s the train leaving the station
It’s the last one of the day
And you know I might get on it
To go someplace real far away
They say that I’ll meet Neil there!
And he might teach me about the dead
You know that I got on it.
Now let me tell you what he said
“You’re so good looking man
You’re so good looking man”
Loves the reason
I turned the TV on last night
And there was only talk of death
So I switched it off and walked out
On the cobblestone terrace
I smoked my final smoke there
I started feeling what he said
When I hear that train a comin’
Keep thinking about what he said
“You ain’t seen nothin’ man
You ain’t seen nothin’ man
And you’re so good looking man
You’re so good looking man
